Breakfast for the menagerie

This is Linden making breakfast for Little Dee, Horse, and "B.G." (Big Giraffe) in his kitchen. Cooking for the animals is a favorite pass time these days. Cooking around here requires constant commentary - perhaps that's why he enjoys it so much.

Darn Coxsackie virus

So I'm not sure if we've mentioned how the darn coxsackie virus has wreacked havoc on our household. Linden and I both got sick a few days after Evie was born and John was sick for a month before that - some how Evie appeared to have missed the infection - perhaps the miracle of breast milk. But Friday night she had a really high fever and because she is still so young and they overly cautious for good reason with infants we had to take her to CHOP (children's hospital of Philadelphia) for all manner of tests and torture to determine that she most likely had a virus and therefore there was nothing we could do to treat it. By Saturday evening she was fine. Wish I recovered that fast!! Thank goodness we live so close to such a great hospital and thank goodness MamaSu was here so at least Linden got some sleep Friday night.

Introducing Evie

So we've been neglecting our blogging duties. Here are some pictures of the little girl from the last few weeks. Evie is an incredibly chill baby - very alert during the few moments when she is awake during the day. And just very calm.

Happy 4 week Birthday Evie Mae

Believe it or not - Evie is 4 weeks old today. Linden and I made her a cake which was an exercise in toddler patience - making a cake and then waiting hours to eat it. Linden was very excited to sing Happy Birthday and have actual lit candles to blow out. We think Evie may have enjoyed it too.
