Aunts and uncles and penix's . . . Oh my!!

This week we had visits from not one but two penix's - John's mothers little brother and sister. Both relatively unplanned and the kids loved them both!

Nikki came to play with us today. Evie loved everything about Nikki - especially her sparkly shirt.

Trip to Dallas

So we made an impromptu trip to Dallas to see MamaSu and OPa this weekend. The kids were amazing car travelers. Its amazing how quickly one can adjust one's scale of a day's drive. We would have never driven some place 7 hours away for the weekend in the Northeast - but I guess if you don't drive through anything to get where you are going it just seems shorter. Anyway happy to find out that our kids adjusted their scale too.Cool Fountain in Rockwall - where we stayed.

And I guess we were having so much fun that Mama didn't really take many pictures - some how we don't have nay pictures of the main event - visiting with MamaSu and Opa. Thanks for meeting us! We had a great time.

Big week

Its been a big week for Evie Mae. She decided she is really into rice cereal. She has her first tooth poking through her gums. And she started out going for full on on-the-knees-crawling but has decided instead that it is far more efficient to drag herself along the slippery wood floors with her arms. She is fast. A lot of change for just a few days.

Empty living room

So having an empty living room with no furniture and lots of cardboard boxes is great for a two year old. We finally condensed all our yet-to-be-un-packed-boxes in one place and brought in the washer and dryer boxes I have been forcing john to save for 6 weeks and voila - instant play space. Pretty fun for Mama too. we add a few things a week. Today we added a mail box and the shrub.

Too Much Light

A strange new photographic problem for us. there is actually too much light in our family room at certain points in the day. Its awesome. I feel like I was living ina cave for the last few years.

Gidee Y'up

"Wonder Horse" was in John's father's storage shed along with a bunch of very useful furniture (thanks Bubba and Pop!). Its awesome! I think it used to be John's aunt Paula's when she was little.

Evie Mae has really been working on her crawling skills. She wakes up almost every morning at 5 ish to practice. I recall it taking a month or so for linden to go from scooting to inch worming and then finally to crawling. She isn't super fast yet but she is on her knees. yikes!

So there is this great state park just 10 minutes away with a lake with atrail around and an awesome playground - fun for Mama and Bubba and for Linden and Evie. And yes we did finally cut his hair.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Linden and Evie and I with The Cat in the Hat and a Sneech at our local Library. Not sure if I've mentioned how wonderful our local Library is - and its just 3 blocks away from our house. We go to story time at least once a week. Today they had a party for Dr Seuss - complete with cupcakes.
