Fabulous weekend

what a great weekend. Fun for all. Beautiful weather. Daddy and Pop framed in the garage - the kids oversaw the construction.

We camped with Bubba and Pop and cousin Blakelyn in our backyard. WE LOVE OUR YARD!!! - we even have a fire pit in the back for roasting marshmallows. You can't even really see the house from where the tent is - well if the lights are off. who needs to drive anywhere?

There was even a petting zoo at the ASU farm campus. Linden's favorite were the Piggies.
And by the end of it we were all as exhausted as these two. Note the skinned shin, knee, face, arms etc. Little boys and summer.

"Tickled Pink"

So John is so in love with this block wall that got built today - the start of the eventual wall to make our garage workshop out of half of our car port. Note the family portrait in the fore-ground also by John.

Pruning our crazy ivy

Linden (and Evie) have been helping me prune our unruly ivy. I use clippers and Linden uses his new purple scissors. We've found some amazing rocks under there - huge fossils and petrified wood. We've been told that two owners ago had this amazing rocks garden of collected rocks - so maybe there is more to be uncovered.

see they do like each other.

Found a back pack, found a back pack, found a back pack. . .

. . . in the garage. we unwraped it, to get strapped in, so that I could take a ride. (you know . . to the tune of Clementine)

I really got it out for Evie to ride around in while Linden and I prune the ivy and explore the yard but apparently he remebered it fondly.

Ready. Set. Escape.

we might need a better lock on the back screen door.

The perfect hiding spot

just where you would want your two year old to hang out - at the bottom of the ventilation window to the crawl space to our house - about 2 feet deep and filled with mud, sticks, leaves spiders, lead paint chips etc. But he fits perfectly - I'll give him that.

Helping give "Ev" a bath

It always seems like a great idea when he offers to help give Evie a bath - an opportunity for some sibling bonding. 3 minutes later the floor and walls are drenched, his sleeves are soaked to the arm pits. Notable moments: "Evie don't touch my polar bear because you will get it wet." (note polar bear pjs) "Evie I need that measuring cup so I can pour water on your head." "Mama are you supposed to pour water on the counter?"

Computer geek

So about a week ago we discovered that Linden is able to operate the mouse completely on his own. He can now surf his favorite web sites (Bob, Thomas and word world) completely on his own. This is great on the one hand (it was getting hard to keep Evie from eating the keyboard while the three of us played games) but really scary on the other. Its shocking how quickly he can wake up the computer open firefox, click on the quick link to get to the website he wants and navigate from game to game as he pleases. Here he is designing a house on Bob the Builder.

NEW RUG!!

So we definitely are all very excited about the new rug in the family room - but Evie might be most of all!
