Surprise MamaSu!!!!

So we drove to Stephenville TX over the weekend to surprise MamaSu for her 60th birthday.

Man was Linden excited about the surprise part and the party part. He made sure we stopped on our way to their house to get balloons and a cake to complete the party.

we spent the entire weekend doing nothing but relaxing - we never even got into the car. All you need for fun in Texas is a kiddie pool, maybe a sprinkler, a few dogs, and some grandparents.
When you think about it - 11 month old babies and small dogs are very similar - crawling on all fours, drooling, needing to chew on rubber objects, enjoying cozy blankets and small spaces.
Its definitely a long drive - but well worth it for some quality cuddle time. Happy Birthday MamaSu!!!!

Feastival!!

So our wonderful CSA had this great event this weekend which they called a "feastival". And that it was. Lots of great food and music and fun and exploring the farm that grows our veggies. What's not to love. Plus two great farmers. Who knew you could have all that nearby and still live in Jonesboro! Here is the poster for the event. (above: Red cheeked Linden and his buddy Renato.)

They even had a watermelon eating conets for JOhn adn Linden to participate in.
Post contest smiles and drippy pink chins.
And then we ate all these too.
Have we mentioned our child is a dancing fool. Here he is non-stop jamming to this great bluesish band - which happens to be 50% people John went to highschool with.

Cooking together

This is what happens . . .

Now I remember - I guess I forgot. this is what happens when you give your kid a bowl and a spoon. Evie has decided that all the things she was eating a few weeks ago are now passe - we added the mess factor in hopes that it would make purred foods more exciting - but no. Just really really messy.

4th of July at the Lake

So no Parades this year. Just lots of fun in the water and on the water. If it hadn't been mentioned before Linden and Evie both love the lake. What's not to love?
Captain Linden "driving us to Mystery Island"
Pop and Evie have a very special eating relationship. He seems to be able to get her to eat anything - maybe because we often find him slipping her cookies when no one is looking.
Co-pilot Linden - note the seriousness with which he is driving.pop and evie. Have we mentioned she loves to clap now?
Everyone went swimming - even Evie. The kids are much less freaked out than I am about swimming in 100 foot deep water.
Me and Mini Me driving off into the sunset.

She is just barely 18 lbs at 10 mos. Her brother was 20 lbs at 6 months!
