perfect morning

It was 65 degrees this morning whn I got the kids dressed! 65! Perfect moring for a walk around Craighead lake.
And then playing on the fabulous playground - even sliding together - without sweating. Hurray for fall!

the weather and a meeting last week with "the Tree Man" (and 80 year old arborist who knows personally every tree in our yard - even raised some from seed) has inspired John to prune. Now we can see our back back yard again.

Yikes!

You would not believe the number of crazy spiders we found as we cleaned out the car port for Evie's party - including this picture perfect, clear as day black widow. Yikes!!

Hard to believe its been a year. We couldn't have had better weather for Evie's big day - absolutely gorgeous. Here is Evie's special day in review.

Arkansas Family Vacation Part deux

So after the long weekend at the buffalo it was a short trip to Bubba and Pop's lake house on lake Norfork for more sun and water fun with the Mixon Feierman Black Osborn clan. Lots more cousin and Aunt and uncle bonding as well.

We celebrated my birthday and . . .

we celebrated Pop's 60 th (belatedly) with a family trip to a Redbirds game in Memphis.
Justin Jessica and Isaac it was great to play with you so much - and we can't wait to meet our new cousin/nephew this fall!!!

Buffalo River

So we had an amazing time celebrating MamaSu's 60th whole big family style at the Buffalo National River! Its a beautiful place with amazingly warm river water and great canoeing. We stayed in these great WPA "rustic" stone cabins - same cabins John stayed in with his family as a child. Both kids loved the water and linden really loved canoeing! And its was great for us all to have some great, extended family play time - Evie and Linden have some wonderful cousins! Happy Birthday MamaSu - what a party!!

Evie the Walker!!!

Today Evie took her first real independent steps. She's been practicing - walking holding just one finger and making short leaning trips a few feet from person to person or couch to person for the last few weeks. Then today she just went for it. She's been going from me to the couch and then back to me all morning. Maybe this will mean I can have my leg back.
